MTF_4TF_HAS_Bar2M

This script is a multi-timeframe technical analysis tool designed to provide a visual overview of market trends across four different time horizons simultaneously. Rather than forcing a trader to switch back and forth between different charts, it aggregates data from multiple periods into a single, easy-to-read display on your current screen.

Core Functionality

The primary logic of the script involves "sampling" data from four specific higher or lower timeframes relative to the chart you are currently viewing. Depending on the timeframe you have open (e.g., 15 minutes, 1 hour, or daily), the script automatically identifies a logical sequence of four periods to monitor.

For example, if you are viewing a 30-minute chart, the tool will look at data for the 30-minute, 60-minute, 4-hour, and 24-hour periods (among others depending on your settings) to give you a "big picture" view of where the price is heading.

Data Processing Logic

To determine the trend for each of these four timeframes, the script uses a specific type of candlestick analysis called Heiken Ashi Smoothed.

  1. Trend Identification: For every timeframe being tracked, the script compares two internal values: the "Open" and the "Close" prices of the Heiken Ashi calculation.

    • If the closing price is higher than the opening price, it identifies a Bullish (Upward) trend.
    • If the closing price is lower than the opening price, it identifies a Bearish (Downward) trend.
  2. Visual Mapping: Instead of plotting complex lines or candles, the script converts these trends into simple visual markers (arrows) placed in a separate window at the bottom of your chart.

    • It creates four distinct "levels" or rows on the display.
    • Each row represents one of the timeframes being monitored.
    • The labels for these levels are automatically generated so you can easily see which row corresponds to which timeframe (e.g., "M15", "H1", "H4").

User Experience

The script is designed for clarity and efficiency:

  • Dynamic Labeling: It automatically updates the text labels based on your current chart view, ensuring the data remains relevant as you navigate.
  • Visual Separation: It uses a "Gap" logic to ensure that the four different timeframes are stacked vertically and do not overlap, making it easy to distinguish between short-term momentum and long-term trends at a single glance.
  • Automated Refreshing: The script constantly monitors for new price movements and updates the visual markers in real-time, ensuring your "dashboard" of trends is always current.

In summary, this tool acts as a multi-horizon dashboard, allowing you to see if the short-term momentum aligns with the long-term trend without ever leaving your primary chart.
