This script is a visual tool designed for the MetaTrader platform to help traders identify and highlight specific "work hours" or active trading sessions on their price charts. Instead of cluttering the screen with technical lines, it uses shaded colored zones to make it easy to see when certain market periods occur.
How it Works
1. Customizable Trading Windows The tool allows you to define two distinct time blocks per day. For example, if you want to focus on the London and New York sessions, you can set specific start and end times for each. Each of these windows can be assigned a different color (such as Dark Blue or Brown), making it visually clear which session is being displayed.
2. Historical Visual Mapping Rather than just showing today's time, the script looks back over a user-defined number of days (defaulting to 50). It automatically calculates the exact date and time for each of those previous days and draws a shaded rectangle on your chart to represent those specific hours.
3. Intelligent Date Handling The logic includes a specialized "trade day" calculator. This ensures that the tool correctly skips weekends and accounts for different month lengths (like February's leap years). It moves backward through the calendar systematically to ensure that the 50 days of history shown are actual trading days.
4. Dynamic Price Scaling The script features a specific toggle called "HighRange."
- When turned off, the shaded boxes are drawn based on the lowest price reached during that time period, providing a consistent visual height.
- When enabled, it allows for different price logic to determine how tall the shaded box appears on your screen.
