MA_Crossover_Alert_v1

This script is designed for traders using the MetaTrader platform to identify specific momentum shifts in the market by tracking the interaction between two different Moving Averages (MA). Essentially, it acts as a visual and audible signaling system that tells you when a "fast-moving" trend line crosses over a "slow-moving" trend line.

Core Functionality

The primary logic of the tool revolves around identifying Crossovers. In trading, a crossover often suggests a change in market sentiment:

  • Bullish Signal (Buy): When the fast Moving Average crosses above the slow Moving Average.
  • Bearish Signal (Sell): When the fast Moving Average crosses below the slow Moving Average.

Key Features and Customization

To make this tool versatile for different trading styles, it includes several customizable parameters:

1. Diverse Moving Average Types The script is not limited to a single type of average. Users can choose from various calculation methods, including:

  • Simple Moving Average (SMA)
  • Exponential Moving Average (EMA)
  • Smoothed Moving Average (SMMA)
  • Linear Weighted Moving Average (LWMA)
  • Least Squares Moving Average (LSMA)

2. Flexible Price Sources Rather than just looking at the closing price of a candle, the script allows you to calculate the averages based on different data points, such as the Open, High, Low, or various weighted averages (like Median, Typical, or Weighted prices). This allows for a more nuanced view of market volatility.

3. Dynamic Visual Markers When a crossover occurs, the script automatically places an arrow on your chart:

  • Green Arrows: Appear below the price during a "Buy" crossover.
  • Red Arrows: Appear above the price during a "Sell" crossover. The position of these arrows is dynamically adjusted based on the recent price range to ensure they remain clearly visible regardless of how much you zoom in or out on your chart.

Notifications and Alerts

Beyond just visual cues, the script is designed to actively notify the trader of these movements in real-time:

  • Audio Alerts: The script can trigger a sound on your computer the moment a crossover is detected.
  • Email Notifications: It can be configured to send an automated email with the specific price details (Ask/Bid), date, time, and currency pair.
  • Smart Filtering: The logic includes a tracking system to help manage these notifications, aiming to ensure you are notified of the significant trend changes without being overwhelmed by repetitive signals.

Summary for the User

This tool streamlines your analysis by doing the "heavy lifting" of monitoring two moving averages simultaneously. It filters out the noise of the raw candles and highlights the exact moments where the short-term momentum shifts relative to the long-term trend, providing clear visual markers and immediate notifications for your trading decisions.

//| Added Global LastAlert to try to have alert only on new cross |

  | Which point they crossed over. It is more usful on the shorter |
  | periods that get obscured by the bars / candlesticks and when |
